18|8 Fine Men’s Salon

Q: What does your business do or provide to the community?

18|8 Fine Men’s Salon is a premier grooming destination in Town Brookhaven. We provide a high-end, transformative experience for men, but our impact goes far beyond the chair. We are a significant local employer—proudly championing gender diversity with a workforce that is 90% women—and we serve as a dedicated community partner, supporting local schools, the Brookhaven Police Foundation, and organizations like Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Purple Pansies.

Q: What inspired you to start your business or enter your field?

In 2014, my husband, Skip, and I decided to transition from our corporate careers to entrepreneurship. We wanted to build something that allowed us to be more hands-on within our own community. Establishing 18|8 in Brookhaven gave us the perfect platform to combine professional excellence with active civic engagement. Since our inception, we’ve been inspired by the vision of leaders like the late Rebecca Chase Williams, which is why we continue to sponsor the Cherry Blossom Festival 5K and encourage others to get involved in the heartbeat of our city.

Q: What is your favorite part about being a woman in business in Brookhaven and surrounding areas?

My favorite part is the opportunity to lead and give back to the place I call home. Serving as the Chairperson of the Brookhaven Chamber and on the Board of Explore Brookhaven has allowed me to help shape the growth of our city. I love that in Brookhaven, being a business owner means being part of a family; we don’t just run shops—we support our neighbors, mentor our staff, and work together to make this community thrive.
